September 15: Chronicles 4 Today by Br. Mekwi
Theme: Keep hope alive!
Text: Romans 4:18 (NLT)
Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping-believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”
Reflection:
When confronted with life’s circumstances, satan ensures that he speaks words of despair and gloom into our ears so that we can lose hope. He knows that as long as we continue hearing those words we will eventually believe them and of course the ultimate result will be doom, a long wait for the manifestation of God’s promise to us.
Abraham faced the improbability of the fulfillment of God’s promise. At 100 years of age, and with his 90-year-old barren wife in menopause, it was clear humanly speaking that they would not have the children that God promised. Rather than yielding to the adverse conditions, Abraham deliberately chose to place his hope in the word of God. This decision ultimately led to the realization of God’s promise – the birth of the long-awaited son, Isaac.
What do you do when the circumstances of life all point to the fact that you cannot be successful in your endeavours as revealed by God? Do you give up hope or hold on to the word of God? When going through life’s challenges, it is important to realize that the only way out of the pit is to hold on to God’s word until it becomes a reality. Life’s facts are real, but even more real is the word of God which never fails as long as we put our hope in it.
Prayer:
Father in the name of Jesus, I choose to hope in your word even when my circumstances indicate otherwise. Thank you for speaking about my situation and bringing it to pass in the name of Jesus. Amen
See you at the top!
